Welcome to Holy Cross  School!

We are a preschool through 8th grade Catholic elementary school dedicated to teaching the faith and providing a positive, affirming environment that challenges our students.  Holy Cross School currently enrolls 363 students.  Our mission is to ensure a faith-filled, nurturing environment, which promotes enthusiasm toward Christian service and academic excellence.

Highlights of Holy Cross School include:

  • Our school is a Discipline With Purpose (DWP) School, teaching children lifelong skills in self-discipline.   Students are also taught organization and study techniques through our Study Skills program.
  • We offer all day kindergarten and preschool for three, four, and five-year-olds.
  • Our religion curriculum is integrated within the entire curriculum.  Weekly Mass, sacrament preparation, Stations of the Cross, and Reconciliation are integral parts of our religious education. Parish priests regularly visit the classrooms.
  • Our primary students are instructed in reading with the Riggs phonics based program and also the Guided Reading program.
  • Spanish is included in the 7th and 8th graders' curriculum.
  • Art, music, and physical education classes are taught by specialist teachers in these areas and a computer technology instructor offers integration of technology with academics.
  • Extended Care is available before and after school for all students.  Daycare is also provided in the afternoon for preschoolers who attend the Monday through Friday morning preschool class.
  • We have high expectations for teachers and students and a reputation for excellence; our eighth grade students excel on the high school placement tests and yearly have been awarded scholarships to Catholic high schools, such as Mercy, Creighton Prep, Mount Michael, Roncalli,  Gross Catholic, Duchesne and Marian.
