Students Are Actively Involved in Their CommunityHoly Cross students have so many opportunities to get involved! We have clubs and activities that meet during and after school. By engaging in activities beyond the classroom, students of all abilities and interests can learn about teamwork, make friends and expand their interests, while gaining confidence and essential life skills. |
Middle school students who participate in Robotics get to design, build and program robots as a group. It’s a great chance to get to know other students and gain real-world experience in the engineering field. Robotics teams compete against teams from other schools in competitions throughout the state and Midwest. There are also National and International competitions for qualifying teams.
Holy Cross students in grades 5-8 are eligible to participate in the Archdiocese of Omaha Music in Catholic Schools (MCS) program. MCS provides instrumental band instruction, with concerts throughout the year.
Your child will also take music classes weekly as part of the overall academic experience.
The Holy Cross Book Bowl is a fun and enriching opportunity for our 6th and 8th grade students who enjoy reading and discussing books. The Book Bowl brings teams together to explore a shared list of 12 books selected for schools across the Archdiocese.
During weekly meetings, students dive into these books through thoughtful discussions and by creating quiz questions to challenge each other. These sessions help students prepare for the annual Archdiocesan Book Bowl competition, held every February.
More than just a contest, the Book Bowl encourages a love of reading, builds teamwork, and strengthens critical thinking. It’s a great way for students to grow academically while celebrating their passion for literature in a fun and supportive environment.
Holy Cross has over 20 sports and activities available to students. A few student favorites include:
During your tour of the school, you will discover more about the extracurricular opportunities available to all students.
BUDDY PROGRAMOne of the best parts of a community like ours is that older students serve as role models and mentors for younger grades. Through buddy programs, school-wide events, and shared activities like celebrating Mass together, students build friendships, collaborate on projects and grow together in faith. Monthly one-on-one meetups allow younger students to read with, talk to and learn from their buddies, while older students embrace their responsibility with enthusiasm, developing key leadership skills for the future. |
